Haha! I baked muffins and scones today! It's a success! (: IS ended early too. Anyway, today Chef Bernard demostrated to us how to make butter from cream. Oh my god. It's damn cool laa! You just churn the cream and it becomes butter! We are also doing a project. YES! Project work is my favourite subject when I was in JC. So, I guess that I can do a great job, cause I have some experience! Haha! Bye~

Gosh. I've been damn busy this week. So many things to do. And I'm so lazy to turn on my laptop to blog. Anyway, shall summarise everything that happened last week. Learnt about sugar, eggs and milk for Food. WOW! It's really quite amazing though. To differentiate a fresh egg from a not that fresh egg, to know what are the processes that milk undergoes before being displayed at the supermarkets. For Catering Science, the subject is a bit dry. Nothing much really goes in my brain. FHH, learnt Attitude VS Aptitude. Haha. Now, I will observe people when they provide service. May it be the waiter or the sales associate, I will determine from their service whether they are people-oriented or task-oriented, whether they have good service attitude. Baking! Chef Goh taught us how to make quiche and sponge cake. Baking is fun man. But not the cleaning up. Haha! Last but not least, English. I love the videos man (: Bye~

Chef Goh taught us how to bake Apple Pie and Baked Banana Tart during Demo. I can't wait to bake them man! But, we need to report before 8 am tomorrow. Sian-ness ): Anyway, I greeted Chef Goh today. Heh heh. No boo-boos! (: This will be a short post. Didn't really learn much today. I'll update soon. Bye~

Hey Mr Guna. Do give me your opinion about my speech. Here it goes (:
Good morning Miss Lee, and class. Today, I’m going to share with you guys my favourite subject. My favourite subject is Project Work. Yes. Project work is a compulsory H1 subject that I took in JC. It’s not the kind of project work which you just do some research and powerpoint slides. It requires even more detailed research and a lot of brain storming. We even need to do a proposal and of course, presentation.
I like this subject as project work emphasizes a lot on group work. We work as one group, towards our goal. Each and everyone one of us needs to take initiative and get things done within a specific time frame. If not, we won’t be able to meet the datelines. We had to brain storm a lot and this is the time when we are stressed, yet still having fun.
Sometimes, there are disagreements in the group. We are not suppose to trouble our teachers and must resolve the problem ourselves. Doing one year of project work had taught me to be more sensitive towards others and to be proactive. As the group leader, I also learnt to be more patient with others. Even when my group members did not submit the work on time, I will ask for their explanation instead of just reprimanding them. A phrase my teacher always uses: “Forgive and forget.” I do agree with him. By forgiving anyone in the group who make mistakes, we will forget the unhappiness and work together happily.
Some people may prefer to work individually. However, in the working society, people work together most of the time. I can say that project work prepares me for the working society in one way or another. I need to co-operate with others and not just work the way I want. I enjoy working with others as I get to interact with others and know them better. This is the end of my speech. Thank you.
Thanks (:

Hello everyone! I'm back (: Had baking IS today. It was fun man! We made fruit tartlettes and walnut tart! Haha. We ate while we bake. Lawrence was cutting the fruits and I kept "stealing" his fruits. Haha. He so nice to bully. Today, our class ended late. We were organised but we took our time to misc-en-place. Chef goh was disappointed with us. She gave a time guide beforehand and yet we didn't adhere to the guide. Lesson learnt : We need to work faster. Baking is more than just baking. There's much more things that we need to do.
English lesson was interesting too! We watched a video of Sing-lish, Modern English and Chim-glish. Oh my god. It was freaking funny laa. HAHAHA. Mr Guna, where you get that video from? So funny man! Anyway, it's very nice of you to release us early (: Thank you! Haha. For your lesson, I'd learnt that time phrases let us know when something happen, and whether we should use present or past tense. That's all for today. I'll update soon (: Bye~

Hello everyone! How's everyone feeling today? Gosh. I felt super busy. And I really mean super busy. I had so much things to do today ): And, right now, I'm not done with my stuff. Anyway, today is like an Owe Money Pay Money (O$P$) day ): Had to purchase manuals and study guides. "Huh?! Why we need to pay for study guide?" That was the first question that came to my mind, when the mentors requested the class reprsentative to collect payment from the class. But, the good news is that our class, DPB110, had gotten all the manuals and textbooks! Yay-ness :D
Okay. First lesson for the day - Applications of Host Communications. WOW! It's a subject that requires me to communicate effectively with others. Be it my eye contact, body language or speech, I need to deliver my message clearly with an impact. At the start of the lesson, we played a small game. It's like charades. The whole class was laughing at those funny actions that the volunteers (including me) did. I was the second person in line. I couldn't understand what the message was about when the first person did the actions. After Miss Lee revealed the answers, I felt that I could do a better job relaying the message. The important point that I'd learnt is that you need to convey your message clearly. Otherwise, the other party will be unable to receive the correct message. We'll be having a speech presentation next wednesday ( class A) and the following wednesday (class B). The subject is " My favourite". I already have a topic in mind. Want to make a guess? It's my favourite subject, Project Work (PW). The speech must be ready by next wednesday. Gosh. I need to start preparing.
Next, was Fundamentals if Hospitality Hosting. Hospitality VS Service. Any idea what's the difference? Service is task-oriented whereas hospitality is people-oriented. People first, and not task first. Miss Leong told us that even as a chef, we need to communicate with our customers. We need to make them feel at home. *laughs* She's right. Nowadays, chefs
The attributes of a hospitable host :
- Warmth
- Care
- Respect
- Professionalism
I think that I'll be a exceptional host in the time to be (: *laughs* Bye~

Hello everyone (: This is a blog that is specially requested by my English teacher, Mr Guna. He wants us to blog regularly so that we are able to express ourselves. I find him quite interesting, because none of my previous English teachers do this. He said that we can blog whatever we want, even vuglarities. Hmm, this is like so cool. Thus, all my posts are dedicated to you, Mr Guna (: Okay. Today's English lesson is fun, cause we played a game. Mr Guna wanted us to take pictures of the following in sequence.
- Toilet seat
- Shoe lace (undone)
- Red shirt
- Empty cup
- Guard house
- Door Knob
- Yellow car
- Pair of unmatched socks
- A cat
- 10 cent, 50 cent and a dollar
Before I forget, this is my group. Me, Shie Ling, Sin Wee, Sue Ying, Jasmine and Kristee.
So, here are the pictures.
It was fun (: We were supposed to have 2 periods of English. However, we only had 1 lesson of English. Our next subject was pushed forward. *Yay. We are ending school 1½ hour early!* Mr Niwaz was our mentor for Catering Science. Haha. This lesson was fun too! He gave us a questionnaire, which had funny questions -.- Well, we filled in the questionaire and here comes the fun part! He read every of our answers out! Oh my god laa. Some of the answers were so funny. And, when the question is left blank, Mr Niwaz went " Oh. He doesn't want to talk to anyone. It's blank. *Showing us the paper* " And the whole class went "HAHAHA!"
